Appointments

We continue to thank you for your patience whilst we deal with significant increased demands for our service.

We have taken on board feedback from patients and staff and are in the process of introducing some changes to the appointment system to try and improve patient access.

Reception is doing their best to get you the soonest appointment possible with the most appropriate clinician.  They will ask for a brief description of your problem and will direct you to one of our GP or nursing team or to another service (Community pharmacist, Emergency department, Optician, Dentist) if more appropriate.

In the weeks to come, you will be offered the choice of a face-to-face appointment or a telephone appointment if appropriate.

Please bear in mind that there is a time allotment for each appointment and to avoid delays for others, we ask patients to limit their appointment to a single problem.  We apologise in advance for those situations where delays are unavoidable.

We understand patients’ frustrations with the current demands upon the NHS and the resulting waiting times.  However, we do remind you that our staff must be able to come to work without fear of abuse, both on the telephone and face to face.  Like other NHS services, Anchor Mill Medical Practice has zero tolerance for staff abuse.

Dates for the diary

Please note the surgery will be closed on Monday 25/9/23 for a public holiday.

NHS 24 will be available on 111 for any emergency care required.
