The practice works closely with the district nursing team who give nursing care to patients in their homes, particularly frail and elderly patients. District Nurses can be contacted directly on 0141 207 7760 Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistants
The Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistants work includes:
- Monitoring of chronic diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease, Asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Diabetes, Hypertension.
- New patient medicals, cervical smears, contraception advice, lifestyle advice, weight management, injections, travel health (not vaccinations, you will be referred to the Community Team).
- Phlebotomy (blood sampling)

Advanced Nurse Practitioner is available for minor ailments. If you are over the age of 16 years, you can book an appointment with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner rather than the GP.
If you have a minor illness, a pharmacy is the first place you should go for advice. You do not usually need an appointment and you can go to any pharmacy. Your pharmacist can give you advice for a minor illness, and medicine if they think you need it.
NHS Pharmacy First Scotland is available from all pharmacies in Scotland that dispense NHS prescriptions.
