How to Arrange a Home Visit

Home visits are available on request for patients who are housebound, terminally ill or too ill to come to the surgery. Seeing you at the Surgery means that you have the best facilities for examination and treatment.

If you do require a home visit be prepared for the receptionist to take some brief details of your problem, including telephone number. The receptionist may log your call with the Practice Nurse or GP to call you back.

If possible, please request home visits before 10am.

Naturally we do recognise that emergencies can occur at any time.

Non-urgent advice: Please Remember

The doctor can see five patients at the surgery in the time it takes to visit one patient at home. At home the doctor will only have limited equipment and it is often difficult to perform a full assessment of your condition.

It is therefore essential that if it is at all possible that you attend the surgery to see the doctor.
